Welcome to the final instalment of our Reflex Bursary Scheme round-up series, here we’re sharing the final handful of stories from last year’s scheme and highlighting the incredible impact it has on its chosen causes. Let’s dive in…
Freedom Support | Donated by Reflex Packaging Solutions Market Harborough
Freedom Support are our neighbours over in Market Harborough and they provide schooling for individuals with learning disabilities. Students are encouraged to grow their own flowers and vegetables in the allotment, as well as take part in many activities including making sandwiches (which are then supplied to the industrial estate), hosting tombolas and they even do karaoke on Fridays!
The Reflex bursary will enable Freedom Support to continue to improve and maintain the allotment, ensuring they are able to continue growing fresh produce which feeds into their social enterprise. It will also go towards the creation of a dedicated Recycling Hub.

British Beekeepers Association – Bumble Bee Appeal | Donated by Reflex Group
The British Beekeepers Association are campaigning to raise awareness of Asian Hornets, a highly aggressive predator which poses a significant threat to honeybees and other pollinators in the UK. The first Asian Hornets were detected in the UK back in 2016, but numbers of this destructive insect rose rapidly in 2023, and more were detected in the UK than in the previous six years combined.
The Reflex bursary will go towards the British Beekeepers Association ‘Save the Bees’ campaign, which is currently raising funds to raise awareness and help stop Asian Hornets from becoming established in the UK.

The Brigg Infant School – OPAL Scheme | Donated by Reflex Labels Mansfield
The Brigg Infant School, local to our Mansfield site, has recently unveiled its plans to introduce a scheme called OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning), which aims to improve opportunities for physical activity, socialisation, creativity, imagination and enjoyment through improved play.
Reflex’s bursary donation will be used to help facilitate and implement the scheme and encourage children to learn through outdoor play.
And that’s a wrap for the 2024 bursary scheme! These stories highlight the phenomenal impact our employees and their chosen causes are making within their local communities, and we are delighted to share how Reflex’s donation helps each one.
The bursary scheme is part of Reflex’s ongoing journey towards lasting change, keep an eye out for this year’s scheme announcement!
