The Reflex Group Bursary Scheme 2024: Inspiring Stories of Meaningful Change – Part 2

12.16.2024

Last month, we shared the first part of our Reflex Bursary Scheme round-up series, highlighting the ways in which our employees’ chosen initiatives are making a change in their local community. Now, we’re delighted to share more heartwarming stories of success from across the country.

The Boston Woods Trust |  Donated by Reflex Labels & Reflex Systems Boston

The Boston Woods Trust is an independent charitable trust which looks after over 150 acres of woods and parkland around Boston. Their aim is to help combat climate change and encourage biodiversity through the creation and maintenance of woodland and wildlife habitats.

The Reflex bursary has assisted with the ongoing development of the Dion’s Wood Nature Reserve site including the purchase of trees, creation of wildlife habitats and the purchase of equipment for volunteers, which will enable them to continue to purchase new land and maintain existing woodland. The Trust recently celebrated the opening of the site in October 2024.

St Joseph’s Primary School Keighley – Woodlands Special Educational Needs Unit | Donated by Reflex Label Plus Keighley

St Joseph’s Primary School is located a stone’s throw away from our Keighley site and is home to the Woodlands Special Educational Needs Unit. The Reflex bursary has enabled the unit staff to buy valuable resources that will enhance the children’s learning and keep them on regular rotation to keep the children engaged.

Heather Primary School – Sensory Wall | Donated by Reflex Label Plus Barwell

Heather Primary School is a small village primary school located close to our Barwell site. The Reflex bursary will help towards the build of a sensory wall and digging area for the school’s SEND students.

Dun Roaming Dog Rehoming Centre | Donated by Reflex Flexible Telford

Dun Roaming Dog Rehoming Centre is a rescue centre which specialises in taking in dogs of niche breeds, many of which have behavioural issues, and caring for them for as long as they live.

Nominated for a second year, the Reflex bursary will enable the staff at Dun Roaming to continue the work they do in encouraging positive behavioural changes in the dogs they look after, and will assist with the cost of vet bills, food and day to day running costs.
