Celebrating Success: Reflex Group Shines at the FIA UK Print Awards 2024

At Reflex Group, our dedication to excellence, innovation, and sustainability in the print industry has been recognised at the prestigious FIA UK Print Awards, on Thursday 20th June at Hotel Titanic, Liverpool. We are thrilled to announce that our hard work and commitment have been rewarded with several top honours. 

Our Trophies Include: 

GOLD AWARDS 

• Labels Printed on Film for Asahi UK Dark Star – Reflex Label Plus, Keighley 

This award celebrates the outstanding quality and precision of the labels, showcasing our expertise in delivering exceptional results for premium brands. The use of process black subtly on the tails of shooting stars adds depth and sophistication to the design, highlighting meticulous attention to detail.  

• Technical Innovation for Linerless Lite™, M&S Organic Kiwi – Reflex Group 

Our cutting-edge Linerless Lite™ technology has been acknowledged for its innovative approach, providing sustainable packaging solutions without compromising on quality. This innovation offers a technical breakthrough in packaging by replacing traditional tray and linerless label formats with a design that features small aperture holes, enhancing product visibility and quality assurance.

Linerless Lite™ complies with OPRL guidelines on minimum mixed material content. The pack, applied to a cardboard tray, features a patented strip laminate film within the aperture, creating a label with less than 1% mixed material content. When applied to the pack, this content is reduced to just 0.01%, ensuring recyclers can access the cardboard fibres within the pack. Post-use, the product can be recycled through kerbside collections or incinerated for energy recovery, enhancing its environmental credentials. 

• Labels Printed with Complimentary Process for Chivas Regal Blended Scotch Whisky – Reflex Label Plus, Keighley 

This accolade highlights our ability to combine various printing techniques seamlessly, creating visually stunning and intricate label designs. The Chivas Regal 25 label is a masterful representation of luxury, heritage, and craftsmanship, designed to captivate and impress.  

•  Operational & Environmental Sustainability for Reflex Liner Recycling Project – Reflex Group 

Our commitment to environmental responsibility is highlighted through our Reflex Liner Recycling Project, which significantly reduces waste and promotes sustainability in the industry. Our liner recycling scheme is a streamlined process for collecting and recycling liner waste (label backing paper) from our customers. In doing so, we not only mitigate the negative environmental impact but also contribute to the circular economy by reintroducing recycled materials into the production cycle. In 2023 alone, our efforts led to the collection of approximately 304 tonnes of liner waste. To provide context, this volume equates to the weight of approximately 25 London buses.  

 SILVER AWARDS 

• Labels Printed on Film for Two Tribes Power Premium Pilsner – Reflex Label Plus, Keighley 

This award underscores our proficiency in producing high-quality labels for the beverage industry, enhancing brand appeal and consumer engagement. The label seamlessly combines intricate details, such as the fine spokes of a bike, with a striking contrast between glossy and textured rough varnishes. The textured rough varnish plate not only enhances the visual appeal but also provides a tactile experience.  

• Promotional Print for Alive by Night – Reflex Label Plus, Keighley (Print) & Graphic Brands (Design) 

Recognised for our creative promotional prints, Alive by Night is the world’s first UV reactive label series. Alive by Night was a project created to showcase innovative labelling concepts specifically targeted to the drinks industry, using UV inks as inspiration and to create a world first UV reactive label. Designed by Graphic Brands and printed by Reflex Label Plus.  

• Sustainably Produced Packaging for Linerless Lite™ 

Our Linerless Lite™ technology has once again been honoured for its sustainable packaging solutions, reinforcing our leadership in eco-friendly innovation. 

 

 BRONZE AWARD 

• Labels Printed on Film for Airwick Strawberry Mojito Bliss – Reflex Labels, Boston 

This award highlights our capability to produce vibrant and appealing labels for household products. The end result is a nice, clean and vibrant design, printed on what can be a difficult material to work with.  

 

 HIGHLY COMMENDED 

• Labels Printed with Complimentary Process for Healeys Cyder Texan Style – Reflex Label Plus, Keighley 

Our expertise in combining printing processes has been further recognised with a commendation, emphasising our versatility and craftsmanship in label production. The colours are strong and the areas nicely defined. The combination of the tactile roughness, and the visually gritty/grainy appearance from the varnish illustrates a ‘barren desert’.
